Steam vs. Epic: Does It Matter?
Gameplay is identical across both storefronts — the difference is purely where your library and friends list live. Both run the same Early Access build with the same updates. Pick whichever storefront you already use; there's no content or performance advantage to either.

Nionetix explicitly lowered the price for the entire EA period because the game "does not yet contain all the functionality we have in mind" — and a free demo is available if you want to test the slow opening before buying.
